Corneal Refractive Therapy

Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) is a relatively new procedure which gives you the same results as laser vision correction surgery, excellent vision without the use of glasses or contact lenses during the day. However, it is reversible and it does not have the same risks as a permanent surgery. For CRT, a special contact lens is worn at night while you sleep. Throughout the night the lens changes the shape of the cornea, the front window of the eye. In the morning the lens is removed and vision is clear at both distance and near. The clear vision remains throughout the day without the need for glasses or contacts!

The lens needs to be worn every night or every other night to maintain the clear vision. If at any time the lens wear is discontinued the vision will return to the starting point. This procedure is great for people that want clear vision without the need for glasses or contacts during the day, or for people that want to experience what a permanent laser surgery can do for them without going under the knife. One catch however is that this procedure works best for people with low to moderate myopia. Ask your eye doctor at Focused Eye Care if you might be a good candidate for Corneal Refractive Therapy.
