How do glasses correct my vision?

Glasses have curved glass or polycarbonate lenses that bend light as it passes through them. Specifically designed for your vision, these lenses correct your refractive error and allow you to see more clearly.

Glasses can correct your vision for both nearsightedness and farsightedness. They can also improve the blurriness caused by astigmatism.

For example, concave lenses correct nearsightedness. Such lenses help myopic eyes bring the image into focus on your retina, thus producing a clear image. Other sorts of lenses alter light in a way to correct your specific vision problem.
